Introduction

Asian American Literature is a growing new subdivision of multicultural literature.  Asian Americans are a heterogeneous group of people in the United States with origins to one or more countries in Asia . Chinese, Filipinos, Japanese, Indians, Koreans and Vietnamese are the main representatives of this group. With the advent of Chinese immigration in the nineteenth century to the present, Asian Americans have had a tremendous effect on American society and have made significant contributions in music and sports, science and literature. It is my hope that this bibliography will serve as a comprehensive and useful guide that will help students and researchers gain a better understanding of the life and culture of this ethnic minority.
