What's in this guide?

This guide was created for Professor McBrine's Classical Mythology course, ENG 310, offered by the English Department at Southern Connecticut State University. It concentrates on Greek and Roman myths that have influenced the literature, art and speech of Western Civilization. The course focuses on the creation and birth of the gods in the accounts of Hesiod and Ovid and the characterizations of each of the major deities and heroes of classical myth. This guide shows you how to search the library catalog for relevant books and other materials, recommends search terms for finding information, lists some of the important works of classical mythology held by Buley Library, recommends databases for finding journal and magazine articles relating to these topics, and provides links to useful websites and citation help.
