Introduction

This is meant to be a comprehensive guide to Hispanic American Literature and concentrates mostly on the works of Spanish speaking literary figures of Hispanic America. It lists resources available in Hilton C. Buley Library, Southern Connecticut State University. The books are broken down into the following broad categories: anthologies, primary sources such as autobiographies/interviews, bibliographies/bio-bibliographies, criticism/history, dictionaries/guides, handbooks, novels/short stories, plays/drama/dramatists, poets/poetry and works by women and about women. Also included are print indexes and databases that the library subscribes to, and key web sites. Although this guide was created to support courses in Hispanic American Literature offered at SCSU, I hope it will be a useful resource to anyone interested in the subject. If there are websites that you would like to see on this list, please email shyamw1@southernct.edu.
