Find Journals and Articles

This guide provides an overview of how to find articles and journals through Buley Library.

Find Print Journals in the Library

The journal collection is shelved on the ground floor of Buley Library.

bound journals

The bound journals are arranged in the stacks in alphabetical order by title. Within each title, they are arranged by volume/year. Current issues for active subscriptions are located in the center aisle.

microfilmMicrofilm and microfiche can be found in the Microform Room.  To get to this room, walk to the back of the Makerspace area to the right of the Art Gallery on the ground floor.  You can use the microform reader to scan content to print or email.  If you need help finding material or using the microform reader, please use the library chat in the bottom right corner to request assistance.

Scanning

Print journals, microform, and newspapers cannot be checked out and must be used in the library.  If you need to use the materials outside the library, you can scan and print the articles you need.

Two scanners are available on the first floor and a third scanner is available on the ground floor. Users can scan to their email or their flash drive for free. You cannot print from the scanners.

There are 3 printers on the main floor that allow you to scan, copy and print.

  1. Next to the Hoot Loot machine opposite the Check-out desk
  2. At the IT Help desk
  3. Near the reference stacks

Printing

Printing from the computers on the 1st and 2nd floors of the library is the same as printing in the labs. There are no printers on the 2nd floor. There are both black & white printers (default, double-sided) and color printers on the 1st floor. There is a HootLoot card machine on the 1st floor for adding money (cash only, $1, 5, 10, or 20) to your HootLoot/Campus ID card.

There is no Guest printing. Guests are encouraged to bring USB drives or email materials for printing elsewhere.
