Southern provides resources for its students no matter the academic discipline. Here is some information that Southern has to help prospective law students.
The Pre-Law Program through the Political Science Department offers the broad educational background, practical skills in research, analysis and writing, exposure to American law and legal systems, and the specialized advisement designed to prepare a student to enter and succeed in law school. Law schools generally do not have a specific major requirement, but these suggested classes at Southern will prepare you for the types of information found in law school.
SCSU Pre-Law Society: A club of like minded individuals interested in law school, politics, and the law in general. Meetings are held every Monday at 1:10 pm in Engleman room C 234 F. We encourage those with even just a slight interest to come by and say hello. The Pre-Law Society does practice LSAT questions together and plans visits to local law schools.
The Buley Library has a Law Research Guide that contains useful information about how laws are made, supreme court cases, decoding citations, cases, statutes, other courts and rules and regulations.
