Models

A couple of axes to consider:

  1. Scope of intervention:
    1. Inclusionary:
      1.  In addition to existing approved subject terms, support locally-derived subject terms or terms from agreed upon alternative controlled vocabulary or classification scheme.
    2. Exclusionary:
      1. Replace existing approved subject headings with locally-derived subject terms or terms from agreed upon alternative controlled vocabulary or classification scheme.
    3. Hybrid: Leave existing approved subject headings in place, but supress them from display while adding locally-derived subject terms or terms from agreed upon alternative controlled vocabulary or classification scheme.
  2. Level of intervention:
    1. In Alma:
      1. Are we doing something in the network zone or the Institutional zone?
      2. Are we doing something
    2. In Primo:
      1. A simple transformation doesn't account for the nuancing.
