Journals: Best Bets for Economics

These are top journals in the field of Economics and which are accessible full-text through Buley Library's electronic resources collection.

If you're looking for another title and want to check whether the library has access, use the Journal Finder search tool.

Google Scholar and the Library Databases

Not all materials listed in Google Scholar are freely available. Few books will be entirely online, for instance. In many cases, especially with journal articles, when you click on a title in your search results, you will only see an abstract of the article, and be asked to pay to see the entire article. However, Google Scholar also allows you to hook into our library subscriptions.

If you are on campus, Google Scholar recognizes your location and automatically shows you the link to the library materials.

If you are off campus, there are two ways of seeing links to library subscriptions:

  1. Use a link that goes through our database login: the Google Scholar search box on the Library Home page or SCSU Login to Google Scholar
  2. Setting Scholar Preferences

Finding Economics Books on the Shelf

Call numbers are groups of numbers and/or letters that classify library items by subject. Items are arranged on bookshelves by call number. Buley Library uses the Library of Congress classification system. Economics books can be found on the 2nd Floor of the library under the "H" call number. See the chart below for more specific topics & their associated call numbers.

Databases: Best Bets for Economics

These databases compile and allow searching of full text materials from a variety of trusted publications, including peer-reviewed journals, company profiles, country reports, industry profiles, market research reports, dissertations, working papers, and more.
