Library Services for Online/Distance Faculty

Online Reserves

Scannable print materials can often be posted to Online Reserves (or E-Reserves), housed within the Library Catalog. There are limitations imposed by copyright law and policy.

Full Text from the Library

The Library has invested in many full text resources that are fully available to any Southern student or faculty:

  • Journal articles, including peer-reviewed/refereed and research articles
  • Statistics
  • Images and artwork
  • Dictionaries, encyclopedias, & handbooks
  • Ebooks
  • For most of these resources, you can create links directly from a reading list or syllabus to articles (etc.) within the databases. If you have trouble, email me at hedreenr1@southernct.edu.

Faculty can also request book chapters, journal articles and other (legally obtained) photocopiable materials be placed on E(lectronic) Reserves. Students must log in within the Library Catalog by Instructor Name or Course Number to download or print Ereserves.

Important:

All electronic materials owned or licensed by the Library are only accessible using your Southern Network Username and Password (MySCSU). See Off Campus Access for more information.
